Hi Mama

My name is Klarissa

I’m a mom to my beautiful 2-year-old daughter, Ava. I run a jewelry business, K Mae Jewelry. I also coach mompreneurs full time.

How I Got Here

As a former psychotherapist of 10 years, I used to be a part of a group private practice. Then, when I found out I was pregnant my values and priorities changed. This was a scary transition, but it also became an opportunity for me to reevaluate and pursue other passions.

I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit and knew I wanted to spend more time with my daughter once she was born. I also knew in my heart I needed to be in my work in order to feel fulfilled.

This is how my jewelry company, K Mae Jewelry was born. Before Ava arrived on the scene, I started working on my designs and collaborating with manufacturers. Once she made her appearance, I left my job as a psychotherapist and continued with my jewelry business. Now, I had two babies to take care of!

Once I started really working on my own I realized how lonely the process could be. There were no colleagues to talk to and no sounding board. It was only me and I had to make all of the decisions on my own.

I had a difficult time balancing my work and taking care of my daughter. I worked as much as I could when she was napping or after she had gone to bed, but life felt non-stop. (Maybe you can relate?)

Sooner or later the stress and anxiety had built up and I became depressed and burnt out. I knew I needed to slow down, but didn’t know how that was possible.

I realized that working as a psychotherapist, becoming pregnant, starting my jewelry business, having my daughter, and launching my business felt like they were all colliding at the same time.

So much change was happening externally.

And internally, I felt like I couldn’t keep up.

With all these changes, I felt like I had changed, too. I also felt a bit like I lost myself in the process.

But the reality is I never fully transitioned from whom I was before becoming a mom into who I was now as a mother and entrepreneur.

What I’m Doing Now

With my 3 phase process of transition, I now help mompreneurs internally discover what it means to fully transition into the role of being a mother and an entrepreneur.

I realized through talking with other women who were trying to balance early motherhood and business ownership that I wasn’t alone or unique in how I was feeling.

Now, I’m on a mission to help as many mamas as possible as they work their way through these transitions.
